- How do I become a member of The Work Place?

To become a member you must attend a Welcome Session (see calendar) and fill out a Membership Form (You can download Membership Form - PDF Format or pick it up at the Front Desk).

- Is there a fee to be a member?

The membership is free.

- Can anyone receive free training?

Yes, anyone who is eligible can receive federally funded skills training programs approved by the State of Massachusetts.

- Where can I access the State approved list of skills training program?

The State approved list of skills training is posted on www.detma.org website.

- Who is eligible for the federally funded skills training program?

The Workforce Investment Act (WIA), a federally funded skills training program is eligible to:

  • Low-income Boston residents
  • Dislocated workers of Boston companies or workers laid off from Boston companies
  • Laid off Boston Resident

- What is Selective Service?

To learn more about Selective Service or to register for Selective Service, please click on www.sss.gov

- What is Empowerment Zone and how do I find out more about it?
